Dive anywhere in the world. This certification
has no time limit and is valid world-wide
at all dive centres. It comprises
of
three parts. An Academic section,

Confined water dives and 4 Open water
dives.
By the end of the course you will have
mastered
the skills necessary to be an Open
Water
Scuba Diver.
PREREQUISITES:
1. PADI Open Water Diver certification, must
be a minimum of 15+ years of age.
2. PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification
must be age 12, age 10 at instructor discretion.
3. Must complete a PADI medical statement
indicating you are in good health to dive.
It is always recommended that you consult
your own personal physician before diving
and receive a signed, written certification
from him/her indicating you are in good health
to dive. This certification should always
be kept in your log book.
CERTIFICATION:
1. PADI Open Water Diver & Junior
Open
Water Diver certification allow you
to dive
any where in the world.
2. PADI Open Water Diver & Junior Open
Water Diver certification are valid for the
rest of your life, however if you do not
dive regularly you will be asked to do a
check out dive and/or possibly a scuba review.
3. PADI Open Water Diver maximum recommended
depth is no more than 18 meters, unless under
direct supervision of an instructor and you
must dive with another certified dive buddy.
PADI Jr Open Water Diver maximum depth is
no more than 12 meters, unless under the
supervision of an instructor and you must
dive with another certified dive buddy of
legal age. At age 15 you may upgrade to Open
Water Diver, without an additional course,
however you need to be under the supervision
of an instructor for your first 18 meter
dive. If you want a new updated card indicating
you are now a PADI Open Water Diver, this
can be purchased at any PADI dive centre.
4. PADI Open Water Diver and Junior Open
Water Diver certification allow you to rent
equipment and dive with any certified dive
buddy independent of supervision. Junior
divers must dive with a certified dive buddy
of legal age.
5. PADI Open Water Divers and Junior Open
Water Divers can continue their education
with a PADI Advanced/Jr Advanced Diver course
or a PADI Adventure/Jr Adventure Diver course
or a PADI Specialty Diver course.
