About Scuba Mallorca

Scuba Mallorca was started in 2000 to fill
the need for quality diving in the Bay of
Pollensa. Mick and Jessie who run the
centre along with their friendly, experienced
and fun staff will make your time in their
company an unforgettable experience. Although
our dive centre is British owned, we hire
British as well as multilingual instructors
to fill the needs of our divers.
After all this time, we have seen many dive
centres come and go and we are still here
making us the oldest and most established
dive centre in the whole north of the island
and still under original ownership. We are
also a PADI 5 Star IDC centre. Few dive centres
can boast that they have an in house course
director and as many of you know Mick, the
owner of Scuba Mallorca, has been a PADI
course director since 1996. Mick is available
to offer his expertise when ever he can and
always willing to train a certified diver
to become a PADI professional. Mick
also holds a 200 Ton Master MCA boat captains
license and was one of the first to receive
this license.
Sid, our PADI MSDT and BSAC Instructor joined
us in 2008. Being retired from the Fire Brigade
in England and a very active member of the
local BSAC club, he has brought with him
much invaluable experience.
Sebastian, our boat captain, joined us in 2004. He
was a captain in Argentina for many
years.
In 2006 he was the first foreign national
to pass the examination in Spain for
the
Spanish boat captains license. He is
also
a PADI Divemaster and soon to become
a PADI
OW Scuba Instructor.
Tom, our PADI Divemaster joined us at the age
of 10, soon after we opened in 2000. His
first dive was the Bubblemaker programme
with us. Thomas has returned every year to
continue his PADI education, training, working
and diving and will become a PADI Instructor
this year. He has over 200 logged dives.
After completing his apprenticeship in restaurant
management in the UK, he now joins us full
time at Scuba Mallorca.
We are very proud of our dive boat "Miss Connie", she continues to uphold her name
of fame and we continue to keep her
in tip
top condition.
This year "Miss Connie" is joined
by our new addition "Captain Haddock".
"Captain Haddock" is a fast, twin engine, speed boat
reaching speeds of over 50 knots (80 kpm).
Not only will "Captain Haddock"
be assisting "Miss Connie" with
divers, but will be offering afternoon SPEED
BOAT EXCURSIONS.
We have received acclaim from many sources
and have appeared on BBCs 'Passport
to the
Sun' programme. We have also
been featured
in numerous magazines including
DIVER and SPORT DIVER magazine. We hope that you will have a read.
Scuba Mallorca is located in the small and
still traditional village of Port de
Pollença.
Port de Pollença is now being noted for its "Ç", as is posted on the information centre,
and for the sea plane at the round
about
which marks the entrance into Port
Pollensa.
You won't find the hussel and bussel
of the
big city or the wild and craziness
of the
mad beaches and pubs here. What you
will
find is simply beauty and tranquility.
Puerto
Pollensa is located in the north of
the island,
in the Bahía de Pollença.
It
is approximately 1 hour drive from
the Palma
airport which goes very quickly with
the
motorway or if you need a airport transfer try Suntransfers.com. The bay area is surrounded
by mountains offering great hikes above the
water and fantastic dive sites below the
water. If you are not up to a hike, then
a stroll through the town square or along
pine walk may be the answer or sit by the
bay and watch the sea plane practice its
manoeuvres. You'll find many a bird watcher
and cyclist here and for the archaeologist
there is plenty to discover. The area offers
an abundance of water sports as well as great
restaurants and accommodations and for those
who just want to relax the beaches are exceptional. NOW, WHAT WE WANT YOU TO DO IS DIVE.
